Default check your diverter valve

i had this weird metallic rubbing, scratching woosh sound last year. took it to the dealer 4 times, they replaced a whole bunch of things and it never went away.they concluded that it was normal, but i was convinced it wasn't since the sound wasn't always there. i ordered a hyperboost hx diverter valve from stratmosphere and installed it. the sound went away and the car ran much smoother/faster. you could give that a try.

Default that sound when you were a kid>>>

could have been engine knock...and if that is what is happening, that is not good.

Are you putting superunleaded in it?

I have ordered a Forge DV from TTstuff.com and I should receive it any day. Man I am hoping that resolves the problem.
The noise that you said is exactly how this one sounds. Sometimes I feel it sounds like a ring and then gone. I hope the Turbo unit is intact!

Thanks again,

Yes of course. I do use the premium 92 octane per instructions. I just got home and on the way, I tried to listen even more carefully and I could hear this "ring" for a second and then smooth operation.

Thanks again,

Ah, Duh, sorry. My dealer told me there was nothing loose. Although when it comes to it, I really donot trust them to believe they checked the engine!
I have one question not related:
Do you have a short shifter on your TT? I am interested in one but it seems there are two basic choices. One is the Neuspeed that mounts on the gearbox, the other B&M that mounts inside the shifter.
Do you have any ideas?

Default Heat Shield

I have a clunking sound coming from the rear of my TT, and the Dealer told me it may be a heat shield. It only happens in 1st and 2nd gear when I make a hard left turn. After what I have heard here, I think the heat shield response is BS.
