Default low decibel but high pitched whine when pushing gas pedal

my car (TT Quattro 225, 2002) has developed this low decibel, but high pitched whine when I give the car gas, primarily in the first 2 gears.

If I let go of the gas, it tapers off. And if I abruptly push the clutch down, it'll immediately stop the whining.

I have no clue what this could possibly be? HELP???? It's driving me bonkers!
