Default Maf cleaning...

this weekend I decided to clean my new MAF which appears to be acting up. In the past I have used the standard non residue electronic spray with reasonable results.. I used it this time again..sprayed liberally 4 times..the usual then re-installed maf. Didnt seem to effectively clean it. So i decided to try immersion in IPA @70% for approximately 1 hour. Did some mild agitation, part was immersed entirely. Removed part after about an hour..let air dry, re-installed, power was improved and seemed to rectify hesitation issues..anyways anybody who has one thats dirty or isnt responding well to the spray might want to try the IPA bath, seems to be a decent improvement...keep in mind that you can recycle the IPA and save it..not enough oil released during cleaning to warrant using new stuff every time..allow proper air dry...anyways just a post..try it ....it works well..

Default for simplicity...remove entire

MAF housing...consists of two phillips screws on side of air box..you need a stuby driver, and one phillips or socket to remove hoseclamp around intake tube..disconnect sensor..slide towards firewall and remove it...to remove maf body slide away from air box..push intake tube down and pop out the maf housing...or the simplest way is to use a size 20 tamper proof torx and remove just the maf element and clean..either works well..you can buy a 20 tamper torx from snap on online..about 12 bucks..

F@CKIN DEAF you know...lol you can do either...take the element out if you have the tamper proof tool or leave it in and clean while attached to housing if you dont have the right tamperproof tool
