OK...referencing pics enclosed>>>
first I assume the water pump for the windshield washers/aliens is functioning...same pump so if you are getting windshield washers spraying away then answer is yes...then that leads to a possible connector failure for the feed line from the washer reservoir to the aliens...now to pics...
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/4128/inside_front_bumper_showing_aliens.jpg">
where I have hilite 'connector' this is where the main feed line from reservoir attaches to the feed line to the aliens...it is also a 'back flow preventer' type valve and it might be clogged or jamed closed...easy to check by accessing by removing wheel well lines (also take off front wheel for ease of work)
Also check this...
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/4128/windshield_washer_reservoir.jpg">
near the bottom of the reservoir tank you see a 'L' shaped connector attached to the tank and then the main feed line to the aliens...check this for a clog or failure..
Also obvious while you are under there to check all the feed line length for a split etc.
If all checks out then the one remaining possibility is the pump is weak/failing and has enought to push water to the windsheild nozzles but can not create enough pressure to activate aliens..
Let me know!

Printing as I type this... I'll begin the process immediately. Thanks a bunch.
Always nice to have the "right way" spelled out by a knowledgeable source as opposed to me getting in there and screwing things up. I am a bit like Joel in that respect. Difference is that I know when to ask for help... and actually listen to the advice I get. Sorry Joel - cheap shot , I know. :-)

UPDATE!!!
OK, here's what I know...
-Both pumps work when power is applied.
-However, the Alien pump only works when the power harness for the windshield is attached to it.
-No power is reaching the Alien pump from it's specific harness/power source (and yes, my headlights were turned on when doing the testing). Bottom line, power to the Alien pump is terminating somewhere before it reaches the harness going directly into the pump power (+/-)terminals.
Therefore, I am contemplating the following:
-'jumping' the wires from the windshield harness directly to the Alien harness.
-The result should be that both pumps work when actuated by the windshield cleaning system stalk - even when the lights are in the off position... don't know if this is such a bad thing.
I am going to the Auto Supply store right now to get the jumper/splice thingamajigs. I'll check back here before I do anything to ensure that I am not making an incredibly dumb mistake. :-)
Does this sound crazy...thoughts?
