Default Mods & Dealer - Revisited

Called Keyes to see if they would take my mods.. they said "We would reccomend against it" obviously.. but.. what is the real deal on this. If I do an exhaust, dv, and chip.. and bring it in for service..what will they do?

Worst case.. the turbo goes, or something like that.. what will they do then?

Default After talking to dealers heres my take on it: Modify the ecu and pop the motor and you are

S@#t outta of luck warranty wise.... however some dealers are very friendly with modded cars, exhaust, wheels, intercoolers.... ect... However I have had one dealer in particular threaten to cancel warranty due to my SSRs.. wouldnt work on car unless I put stocks back on... Needless to say no warranty work for this suckar... It really depends... Whos running the service center and what their attitudes are... I recommend you see what the service tech guys drive... If the parking lot is full of tricked out VW golfs... its a good sign.. If their drivin minivans....welll hummmm. I also found that service tech guys who have taken courses at Ingolstadt seem to be in my experience more mod friendly... but it depends on mods... they really dont like you messing with the ecu... note AofA tech bulletin concerning this..... What you should do is have enough money in reserve to fix a blown, motor and tranny prior to dumping in alotta of cash into some serious horsepower... cause If you find out its not covered say after a 35psi boost spike.... well then just get it fixed... remember.... speed=money

Default Interesting..

Yeah, they said the mods I was talking about (when I bought the car) should be ok.. of course that was when I was buying it, sooo..

I am going to talk with the service manager.. if Keyes doesn't want to help me, I have 2 other audi dealers right by.
