Default More brake questions, since we are on that subject......

When you compress the brake piston, I have read that you may need to remove some of the brake fluid or at minimum remove the brake fluid cap, is this typical? If you compress the piston slowly is any of that necessary?
Thanks

Default no, not necessary, but I take the cap off to see where the level is at.

when you compress either of the pistons, you push some amount of fluid back.

Default I didn't when I changed my front pads and ended up with a bit of a mess.

You probably want to take the cap off and keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't overflow while you're compressing the pistons. You may need to remove some of the fluid.
