Default How do you figure??

If you put the car in FWD mode on a dyno, you can estimate crank hp(assuming 15% loss or whatever number). Of course the wheel hp will be different than what it will be when the car is in AWD mode, but you can get an accurate value of the motor's output..

Default I think your rep is mistaken...

I've been doing a lot of research into this so that I can get my car on a dyno, but I really don't think it's just as easy as putting your car into FWD mode. There have been many urban legends such as you can pull the parking brake up one notch and it puts it into FWD mode. Unless he tells you how to do this properly without damaging the car, I wouldn't believe him. You don't want your rear wheels engaging at 100 mph on a 2wd dyno... do you?

The parking brake thing works on Torsen Quattro cars not on the TT

Default OMG!!!!!!!! NO!!!!

A torsen differntial is not a fully open diff, it wount unload on on side if the other is blocked.

You would launch your car throgh the shop wall if you did that.

Default It would make the task of measuring crank HP a little easier

Then Factor in losses for both transmisions.

It doesn't have to do with one side being blocked, the system gets disengaged....

Default Nikhil - There is no Disengagment Edited for Sp

The torsion differential is located in the rear of the transmission, there is no mechanical or electrical Engagement / disengagement feature at all.

The would be no way for the e-brake lever to have anything to do with the center diff.
