Default Motion sensor?? Removed on later models?

So my friend from work just got his TT Roadster, said he couldn't find the motion sensor button that should be by the trunk release. I was puzzled. It's not like they don't come standard, right?

He called the dealership, and they said "it's no longer included - and certain shops are removing them" ... WTF?

Has anyone heard the same? I did a search for recent threads, but didn't see much ...

Thanks.

Most aftermarket high-end alarms will have options for a motion sensor.

Default Cool. I asked 5 weeks ago to have mine disabled and no one from the dealership has responded.

I bet they are going to hate those 1's they keep on getting for their service surveys.

Default Stopped in 12/00 (+disable instructions)

My car was built in 11/00 and has it. I belive that this is also true for the rings on the steering wheel. If you know how to disable it correctly, it is actually very cool. The only time I have to disable it is on a REAL windy day when I have the tonneau cover on.

To disable...
Sit in the drivers seat (key on).
Open door.
Press button until light goes ON.

This will disable it the next time you lock the car. The minute you onlock, it is re-armed.
