Default My car is way down on power. Read on vortex about boost leaks.

Seems that the golfs and jettas have a o-ring failure on the connection from the pancake pipe, to the next hose. Can anyone with an Ekta check if we have any of these parts in our boost tubing:

V 034 121 119

TIA

Default Yes, but I was wondering if we had a known weak point for boost leaks.

My car is barely able to hold off gtis, and that is not funny. :-) I want a 250awhp TT like Carbide, and a few others on here.

Default How do you know you have a boost leak?

No gauge I take it? Probably something like a Bad MAF if it's just down on power...

Make a pancake, roll it up and you put your weed in there.

Default Have a gauge and it reads the same as always.

In the vortex thread, it says that if you have a leak at the o-ring, your car will still make the max boost, but it will be slightly higher than usuall. Also says that you will probably get some timing pull because the turbo has to work harder to keep the same boost levels. I did some logs a while ago that showed 3-6 degrees being pulled on Revo HB9 Timing 3. This should be fine on a car with an exhaust on it.

I have also put more than a few tanks of leaded race in the car, so I wonder if my cat is clogged? I have no CELs in VAG com to say that though.

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1621202</a

Default Don't believe EVERYTHING you read on Vortex....>

If your gauge hasn't changed it's unlikely you have a leak. It's measured at the manifold. Look for other issues (MAF)

And that leaded gas didn't do you any good BTW...
