Default my passenger headlight bulb occasionally goes out?

sometimes it cuts out and the bulb warning light comes on. then if i turn it off and back on it works? but turns off shortly after a few minutes. i checked the price of a new bulb... $208 for a single low-beam H.I.D. bulb!?

Default ECS Tuning has bulbs for ALOT less :-)

Different color temps are available, starting with stock at $115....
agree, it's unlikely that your problem is a bulb.
FWIW, I replaced mine because the OEMs had yellowed and faded. New bulbs (at 5 years and approx 100k miles) made a truely amazing difference. Yep, they're crazy expensive, but actually worth it. They all apparently do this. Think of it as a maintenance item, they just wear out. If their faded, get new ones... And.. conserve your HID's, don't use them for daytime running lights...

HID replacements

Default If its intermittent, doubtful that the bulb "blew"

I'm betting on ballast/igniter. Just had mine replaced last week for the same symptoms. It was NOT the bulb.

Default mmm, not sure, I was covered under warranty

someone recently bought one on ebay, or try clairparts.com or worldimpex.com.

Default Re: If its intermittent, doubtful that the bulb "blew"

Just had the bulb replaced.. dealer said it seemed to be a connection between the bulb and the socket... has had this in other 2005 TT's.. thankfully covered by warranty...

Default well, replacing the ballast along didn't do it

for me... I was back in less than a week. But replacing the bulb and ballast at the same time seems to have done the trick.
