Default My Passport 8500 has developed a new feature

When it's cold and rainy, and under hard acceleration, the laser warning goes off. Now I'm not sure if this is because of the unit itself being cold, because of condensation on the sensor, or what the deal is. It does however scare the crap out of me because I'm usually about to get into speeds that are perhaps questionable considering the numbers on the signs on the side of the road

Anyone else have something similar happen? It's kind of freaking me out.

Default My 8500 has become downright flaky in its old age. That is one of the symptoms.

I hadn't noticed any correllation wrt temp or humidity. I do know that hot days in the sun tend to send it into fits of self calibration.

In my case I think it's time for a new one.

& yea, that LASER alert makes your heart jump even if you're going 10 mile san hour. It's a bit startling.

The laser warning is hardwired to my foot and therefore brake pedal
