I was washing my TT tonight and went over the area where the side marker is and I felt something move. Thinking that it was likely a lizard that got into the wash water I lifted the sponge, turned it over and saw...nothing. I looked at the car and it looked fine. So I went over it with the sponge again.
That was when the side marker light fell out of it's hole. It's still attached to the wire, and I have no idea if it works.
I can't for the life of me imagine how this could have happened. There are no marks or scratches on it, and if I brushed something while parking or going through a fast food drive thru
then the fender flare would be scuffed or bent. Evidently the plastic that holds it in broke. I hope these things aren't backordered to the year 2525.
Must be plastic fatigue. I guess we found the one part that has not been replaced on ol' Zorro.
Does anyone, incidentally, how to get rid of swirl marks caused by lizard skin? LOL!
