Is my strut bushing (or whatever its called) shot?

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/39360/1bad_driver_side.jpg"></center><p>I noticed the gap after auto-crossing the car; never noticed it before. (in fact I checked recently and they were fine).

What are the side-effects? The car feels fine to me.
