It was my (TTR225) defective gas tank leaking...
Purchased 9/2/01...Silver / aviator grey roadster......
Yep, the damn plastic gas tank was leaking at the seams. The tech says he's replaced quite a few this year...big job, the rear end has to come off...the tank is on order...they had the nerve to give me Ford Focus to drive....not an equitable replacement. At Volvo you get a Volvo replacement for warranty work. They promised to park my baby in the garage every nite (and of course I drove back to check, and they did.) I walked the Mgr around the TTR to show I was leaving a dent, scratch-free, show room car...and if anything happens, there will be hell-to-pay. What pisses me off is this was the 2nd time I had brought it in for the gas smell...and basically had to point it out. The tank is due in Thursday...fingers crossed.
