Default Steve - raise her food & water bowls above floor level.

It's supposed to help their shoulders and aid in digestion (they take in less air apparently). You might want to read up on this - I've heard/seen it many places.

Cute pup, btw! :-)

Default Not to be a smart ***, but haven't cats and dogs been eating...

off the ground forever? Somehow I doubt that coyotes, lions and wolves have their food raised off the ground at dinner time.

Just seems to me that it is a marketing ploy by the pet store folks to make me buy elevated doggie bowls.

Ok. Rant over.

Yes, I do own a dog (if that's what you want to call 105lbs of beast). Black lab and Great Dane mix.

Default It's true - large dogs can get bloat from bending over too much to eat.

True that dogs have eaten like this for centuries but they also have died fron it for centuries. Also raising the bowls can help prevent neck injuries.

Overall it's a cheap and good solution.
