Need help with dead Stereo - H/U
Hello,
The timing belt broke on my 2000 Audi TT at 62,000 miles and did a number on my valves. The car sat at the repair location for nearly six months while I put the money away to fix it. The repair location allowed the battery to die.
Now that the car is fixed, the radio does not come one at all.
There is no SAFE displayed, the CD player does not eject, etc.
I checked the main fuse box and found a blown 20 amp fuse in the radio fuse slot where there should have been a 15 amp fues. I inserted a working 15 amp fuse and still had no power to the radio.
I searched the Forums and found out that there is another fuse for the radio in the H/U.
So my questions are:
1. What does H/U stand for?
2. Where is the H/U located and how can I get to it to check the fuse?
Thanks so much for any help you can provide.

There's a small fuse on the rear of the head unit (HU) that's probably blown
Head Unit = receiver.
The dealer has tools to pull the HU, or you can get them online. Some people are able to use nail files, too. CHeck the audio forum.
