Default Need some assitance with control module coding

I've got a customers car here with a bad ECU, so I can't get the old coding from it.

Car is an 02 225 TT coupe, ECU code AN.

If anyone has the chart to figure out the control module code that would be a big help. I am not sure of his username on here but he is a member and may chime in when he sees this.

Also did Audi switch to immo3 in 02 also like VW? Just wondering which way I need to go about getting it aligned to the cluster, easy method or hard.

Default As far as I recall, dealer has to do it if you don't have a running orig. ecu.

I think they pull a VIN number and get the code or something like that.

Default The coding does not require a dealer

There is a chart that lists what each of the 5 or so numbers should be like 01 is USA.. then 3 is like manual.. then 03 would be like ABS and ESP.. so you'd get 01303 or something like that.

The immo you need the vin and the code if its immo 2. Dealers switch to geko or whatever it is where they have to log in right from the dealer and do it. However most can still manually access it, they just havent' tried so think they can't.. So you go in with the numbers and 20 bucks and convice them to try it

gotcha, but if you have to go to the dealer anyhow for the immo, why not get them to do the coding?

Intro'd on the 2001 "K" box which I have..(11/00 build)

Default Several reasons

One the car is located about 20 miles from the closest dealer, my truck that I tow with is being lent to a friend while I build the engine for his car. So we would have to pay.

Secondly there is no reason to pay a dealer 100 bucks an hour minimum charge they would try and do for coding the ECU when I can do it in 2 minutes myself.

On top of that they would then charge for the immo coding probably..

Default If thats the case it would be great..

But the immo light illuminates and shuts off when the old ECU was working. Unless that just did it on all of them for some strange reason.

Is this possibly an immo 2 and the K is immo 3??

I'll go toss it in now and see what happens.. module coding doesn't have to be set to see if the immo is there or not.

Default I know how to do it

I"ve done it 100+ times, I just do not have the specific coding for the TT. I would much rather get it right then guess or use the coding from another car and have something disabled.
