Nimbus Gray vs. Aviator Gray? Anyon seen or getting an Aviator Gray?
I was thinking of chaning my order from Silver to Aviator Gray.
Has anyone seen one?
I've seen pictures of the NM Nimbus Gray and I was wondering if the Aviator Gray was like that or more like a muted Silver.
Any help with this would be appreciated.
thanks,
Re: Nimbus Gray vs. Aviator Gray,
Aviator gray is what I ordered since the nimbus wont be available. Look at the sales brochure with the holes in it, it has actual paint chips on the back. I have always been a fan of the U Boat Gray that Porsche used in the 50s so when I saw the Aviator Gray, that was my choice. It has a pearl effect clear coat.

Seen pictures, but not up close. The only...
...way I can compare it to Nimbus is that Nimbus appears to have a bluish tint to it (am I right Nimbus people?), while the Aviator does not, as far as I can tell. Aviator is a medium dark grey that, as Byron noted, is like a U-Boat color (or primer? color), but with a metallic pearl effect. I think a lot of people may not care much for it, but I think it's pretty cool, from what I've seen. Gives the car a very Germanic look, much like silver does, but won't be as common. I plan to order my roadster in Aviator with baseball glove leather. Hope I like it! :-)
Charles
