Noise Level and AC in the TTR
If this has been discussed already, my apologies for bringing it up. I was wondering, of you TTR owners, what your experience has been with the noise levels (hearing the outside road noises)? Once you put the top up, is it a loud car?
Also, those of you with black tops, how well does the car cool off using the AC?
Just curious, as a friend brought that up to me today. I live in Los Angeles, where both are an issue.
I just thought it would be good to hear from first hand experience, thanks!

I haven't had to experience many over-100 degree days, but...
It has been warm in NC this summer. I've never had a problem with the car cooling off via AC.
I was amazed how well the TTR's top hides external noises. I feel I'm too isolated when I have the top up. I like the drive with it down because I'm more in touch with what's happening around me.

Not too bad
I seldom take the TTR out of the garage if I can't have the top down. One of the true joys is turning the AC on high with the top down. I usually close off the right-side passenger vent (unless I have company). Even in 90-degree heat, I'm usually cool enough especially if I put the windows up. This forms a little cool cocoon.
On the few occassions when I've had to put the top up because of unexpected rain, I found the car relatively quiet for a convertible. The way the sound enters, however, makes it seem like I left the rear passenger window open. (Yes, I know there's no window there, but that's how it sounds to me.)

Heat, Humidity, Noise
TTR is great in 95degree high humidity weather. AC on Auto position doesn't even run fan at highest setting. I drove a SLK and TT back to back and the TT with hood up was just as quiet as the SLK, maybe even a little less wind noise around the windows.
