Normal Noises?

Normal Noises?
When you start accelerating and you feel and hear the turbo kick in....But if you suddenly lift your foot off the accelertor quickly do you hear something spinning down for a 1-2 seconds?
I tend to get this quiet alot when changing up a gear quickly.
I was told by my dealer that this was normal....so i'm just checking with everyone else?
Is it so? or does anyone think it could be a problem?
Thanks,
HY 180Q+Mod 1100miles

Re: Normal Noises?
YES! I have it too. I was going to post the same question tonight.
I have had my 180Q since December and never heard it before. I picked it up from its 10,000 mile service yesterday and for the first time heard the same thing. It seems like an odd coincidence that it should suddenly appear now. It is not the engine or the clutch, but clearly the transmission (or something) decelerating. It sounds like the whirring noise of the transmission you hear when you are in reverse gear but in a very brief burst that builds then fades. It is most pronounced when you rapidly shift up gears. You can avoid it if you let up the accelerator entirely right before fully depressing the clutch and then slowly upshifting.
I would be curious if that is a normal condition. But why is it starting up now? I would not want the dreaded transmission problems I have read so much about which have been associated with the earlier FWD models.

Re: Normal Noises?
I believe this is the very valve i got replaced...purpose of the valve is to clean/reduce emissions or something? But only there after replacing this has it made these noises.
