Oxygen sensor adaptation value in range:
-10.0 to .-25.0 %
Leak in intake area (pressure side between turbocharger and intake manifold)
- Check intake system for leaks and repair false air Page 24-75 .
Oil thinning
- Change oil or perform swift country open) road test
High oil consumption
Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor faulty
- Check Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor Page 24-67
Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge regulator valve remains stuck in open position
- Check Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge regulator valve Page 24-136
Fuel pressure too high
- Check fuel pressure regulator Page 24-39
Fuel injector does not close
- Check fuel injectors Page 24-44
Oxygen sensor heating faulty
Oxygen sensor faulty
- Check oxygen sensor heating Page 24-108
- Disconnect 4-pin harness connector to oxygen sensor behind catalytic converter; Component location overview Page 24-6 .
- Connect multimeter between terminal 1 and 2 of relevant connector for resistance measurement.
Specified value at room temperature: 1 to 5 ohms
Note:
At higher temperatures, resistance climbs sharply.
Replace sensor if not within range..
Testing primary voltage
- Disconnect the 4-pin harness connector to the oxygen sensor behind catalytic converter (below a black plastic cover at underside of vehicle)
- Connect multimeter between terminal 3 and 4 (4 is at the curved end of the plug) for voltage measurement.
- Switch ignition on.
Specification: 0.400 to 0.500 V
- Switch ignition off.
If specified value is not obtained:
- Test oxygen sensor wires Page 24-107 .
If specified value is obtained:
- Replace oxygen sensor behind catalytic converter.
