Default Oil ?

So my warranty is all done with and it's time to start doing my own oil. Damn I'm gonna miss those free oil changes...

So other than the oil and filter and the obvious stuff...what tools do I need to do this? Anyone out there have wrench sizes for me??? Also, I've heard that it's best to only use the OEM filters...this true? I've also heard that they are a tricky fit...any tips on minimizing the mess I make???

Thanks!

Default Work with a cold engine, Get the car in the air.

OEM filters are very good, I am running a K&N oil filter and Redline 5-30 synthetic, Redline ML-90 in the transmission (highly recommend the change, the difference can't be described). If you have worked on your car before, you should have everything you need. The "skid pan" under the engine as either 14 or 16 fasteners in it and everytine you go to do a change, more and more will be missing.

Good Luck!

Default Go to any parts store...

look up the filter, find one, then walk across the aisle and get an oil filter cap "socket" which fits that filter.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/1135518.phtml">more here.</a></li></ul>

Default i only use oem filters. you can pick em up at the dealer or through a parts vendor.>>

its a little cheaper if you buy a five or ten pack. it should come with a new crush washer also.<ul><li><a href="http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pagebuild_v2.cgi?make=Audi&amp;engine=225HP&amp;mo del=TT&amp;submodel=Quattro&amp;category=Maintenan ce&amp;subcategory=Engine">http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pagebuild_v2.cgi?make=Audi&amp;eng
