This sux. Very weird atmosphere in NYC. Lots o cops, Orthodox Jews protesting at the UN (One block from work). And jets at approx 3-5k high flying over head on the way home!

Thank god I am in MD on biz tomorrow.

BTW, why am I concerned, cause I live this close to the city. Not scared, just concerned.

I don't know - when F-16s were cruising the CO Front Range, I felt MORE secure, not less...

Default Kinda been getting used to it around here......

Lots of stuff flying overhead. Mostly 16's, but a bunch of other things.....Blackhawks, Apaches, Chinooks, C5's, KC135's.......the list goes on.

Default I actually would find that comforting...

Of course I'm an Air Force brat and grew up around such things.

BTW, my dad flew the KC135s when they were brand new, had less than 20 hours on the Hobbs meter... said they smelled like a new car... probably not so these days!

Ditto. The AFB is less than 10 miles from my apartment.

Default Boy, Dad must be older than I am! They weren't new when they were passing gas..

to us in '70. In a fighter pilot's hiearchy, tankers are way above bombers, trash-haulers etc.

Those guys/gals have saved many fighter pilots' asses. I'll buy them a round anytime.

Default Early 60's, old school AF, he flew just about everything 'cept fighters, did a tour in VN as...

...a briefing officer, fianally ended up in the "Chair Force" at the Pentagon as a "Light" Col, then retired, think that was '74 after 23 years!

He drinks his gin on the rocks BTW.
