ok, got appt. at 2 PM for vag com check $15... is that ok deal?
thats another $15 that went into my car for no reason...
maybe im just stupid, but anyone interested in a SPS3 for revo software, think i need a break from it lol

yeah I think the cheapest Ross-Tech cables are $250
And you need a laptop unless you want to drag your computer out to the car (which has been done). You can get cheap cables off eBay like ePuffy's.
You can download VAG-COM and use it with those cables in shareware mode. In shareware mode, you can see codes but some won't have full details, only the number. You can clear codes in shareware mode though if that's all you need. To get full functionality with these cables you'll have to register VAG-COM for $99. That license is good only on the computer it's registered for though.

With the way cars are going just buy the actual cable from Ross-tech
Some cars will not work with the ebay cables, they connect over a different method then how the ebay cables work.
For just checking codes on earlier VWs and Audis its fine or for generic OBDII on other vehicles. But for anything more you really need to spend the money on one of their real deal cables. MAke sure you get one that is CAN enabled or it wont' work on most 02+ audis other then the TT.
