Default ok, what's the best way to care for the windshield?

Looks like what ever was applied at the factory has worn off and I've been trying to get the best result to return to that like new wipe clear finish. Wipe/smear effect started happening to the point where it got hazardous to drive. Tried using Diammondite protectant - actually seemed to wear where the wiper would stop/return leaving a buff spot the length of the blade. Polished glass clean, applied RainX, got the wiper chatter - but the glass is great in the rain. There's tricks out there, but what am I missing to try?

Default Best way..>>

Is to not drive the car...Unfortunately Euro glass is fairly soft and will begin to deteriorate, pit etc. the moment the car is first put on the road...

Rain-x works for me...

I clay-bar'd my windshield and then used Griots Glass Polish. Gunk build-up is gone.

Default Love the RainX - but how to alleviate the blade chatter?

The blades need to be fresh?

Default Boot the rainX and get PIAA Silicone blades. Beads like rainx due to silicone on windshield

Excellent blades.. I'll never buy anything else..

Got my wife a set for her Bug.
