And the voice recognition software in the car handles the phone, CD, radio, etc. Also can control the phone with the head unit (or the phone itself) if I have laryngitis. ;-)
Way cool. (Very expensive, but way cool.) Guess the 32 is going to be sticking around for awhile. ;-D

I know with the 2002 TTs, pre-wiring was an option (about $300 or so). Do you have the pre-wiring?
Curious since the Audi dealer made it sound like it was just a matter of buying the phone if you had the pre-wiring.
With the MB, it uses proprietary (naturally!) fiber optics for the entire audio/phone system so in order for everything to work with the head unit and the voice recognition in the car, you need to buy their version of the V60 (the regular models don't work; people have tried). They also need to hook up to the computer so the car 'knows' there's a phone in the loop. But it is very nice.

Yup, and if I had Nav, it could control that, too.....
You can say commands like 'CD six' or 'Track three' or 'CD next track', etc. (You can also switch radio stations, and control the cassette (which I'm now using for my iPod). With the phone, you can have it list out your phone book and enter new names/numbers using just the voice control. Pretty slick. I hadn't realized that the voice recognition module did anything other than control the phone. (I should mention that the VR was an option; it doesn't come standard on the AMG.)
