Default Opinion on wheel repair vs replacement

I loved my wheels when I got them - picture for reference:

<img src="http://pictureposter.allbrand.nu/pictures/yosemytt/editdsc06595.jpg">

The problem is that two of them have some curb rash (one is very slight and the other quite bad).

Here is my dilema:
I don't think I can get the two damanged ones refinished because the wheels won't all match properly. Getting all 4 refinished will cost about what the wheels cost in the 1st place (I got them VERY cheap on ebay). So, do I pay to have them all done or buy some new wheels? Any opinions?

I like the way they look on my car. I haven't seen (nor will I see) another TT with these wheels so I'm leaning towards keeping them. Anyone have any experience with wheel refinishing? How much did it cost? Were you happy with the results?

Thanks :-)

Default So long as they're all true...

If you like your wheels, stick with them...if you think it's time for something new, then maybe it's time to start looking.

You won't be looking at anything more than $500 total to have all four refinished, and even that's a high estimate. I'd suggest having the two reconditioned, see how well it turns out, go from there.

Default Go new....>>>

save the rashed one's for autocross or road trips...a good service will probably be able to match them tho....then you have spares! Just my nickles worth...

Default if all wheels are the same size, put the reconditioned ones on the same side of the car.

Give the other two wheels a good cleaning and it should be pretty hard to notice the difference. If the difference is that obvious then you def. need to recondition all 4.

Default I have a set of RS4 for spare already. No room for another spare set of wheels.

And I haven't seen anything new that I like that is within a reasonable price range.

Default They are all true (as of my last balance). I figured $500 to refinish as well

which is slightly more than I paid for them!!

Default

buy new. keep old for winter. get 36" mudswampers - you don't have to worry about curb rash
