Default Opinion on Wheel shake issue

Hi guys and gals. would like some opinions on something that might be obvious but I want to be sure. I have a 01 225hp roadster with 15k on it. late this summer I upgraded wheels and tires from the rack. Things have been fine but in the last 2 weeks when I am grinding between 65mph and 85 I notice a pretty good shake in the wheel. Under this speed its pretty much non existant. Above it, not as pronounced. At first I suspected alignment but it tracks quite straight and ALWAYS do my best to avoid holes and what not. So perhaps even though they were high speed balanced they need to be done again.

Just your thought what ever they may be

thanks so much

Default bent rim...outta balance...worn wheel bearing

only culprits I can think of...you did check your lug nuts are to torque...right?

Can you drive out of the shake...e.g.driving faster and it goes away...this would indicate wheel balance issues

Hope this helps...

Hey marcus, yeah getting up to 100 it starts to smooth out but you can still sense it a tad. The rims are in perfect shape with no scrapes, scratches or otherwise issues. I havent had the lugs torgued since I had them put on so perhaps I should check that first.

On another note, the check is out the mail tomorrow my good man. And I am jelous as hell of your new setup

Default re: balancing

worth a try rebalancing the wheels - there's usually some round-off error, so maybe they weren't as picky trying to get it perfect as you might like. Some wheels and car combos are more sensitive to misbalance than others... Tell 'em you're willing to pay if it takes longer, but you want it perfect - could make a difference. Also, it can help if you can isolate it to one particular wheel - if it's on the front, you'll notice it in the steering more, so try swapping front to back one at a time, if you haven't already decided which one it is. Good luck.

Default What tires? I have similar issues with the S03's i got from the rack

Haven't gone back for a new spin yet and I also have spacers so It could be either of those as well.

Default Check balancing.

Definitely check the balancing..
I recently had the same problem, turned out that a rim had warped. There was no way to tell till the tire guy showed it to me on the balancing machine.

What type of wheels?
