Default Opinions needed......

I'm coming up on my 6 month service visit for my 225TTR. My only problem is my car only has 800 miles on it. I know the engine has special break-in oil in it, and I don't really want to change it this early. I'm guessing that the dealer is going to want to change the oil, and won't delay. I'm not sure how big of a deal this is.... I switch to synthetic on my A4 after 2500 miles, and never had any problems. 800 miles seems little premature.

I know your going to say, drive it, but it's not that easy.... I store the car in the winter, so that has keep most of the miles off. I been getting ready to move next month, so that eats up a lot of my time. I also got shot in the right foot with a 12gauge shotgun, so that doesn't help either.

Opinions....

Thanks!

Default Don't worry about having the oil changed . ..

the TT does NOT come with "break-in" oil. Those don't exist anymore. Let the dealer change the oil. You can install synthetic in the car now because that is what comes in it from the factory.

I hope you feel better and heal fast!

The dealer won't want to change the oil. First service interval is 5,000 miles.

Dealer actually sent me a letter after 6 months telling me they hadn't seen my car for service yet.

Next time Brad, try not to drive with a loaded 12 gauge in the car (IMHO).

Default Yeah, mine called me ....

but unfortunately that was the Mitsubishi dealer regarding the freebie Montero, not the $40K+ TT. ;-)
