OT Apple and CPQ....
discussion a week ago centered on Apple weathering slowdown better than say Compaq. I mentioned CPQ not purely a retail boxmaker and now better prepared. After todays earnings release it was interesting to note the following audio report,

But, Amazingly enough IBM managed to have record profit/earnings for the same quarter....

Apple and Compaq...
are heavily invested in the consumer market, and therefore dependent upon it.
IBM is not.
I look for a resurgence in Apple over the next three quarters, based on the new titanium PowerBooks and whatever they've got up their sleeve to replace the iMac.
