OT: NYC restaurant suggestions
I just found out the place I was going to take my family for lunch tomorrow (Sat) in NYC is closed on weekends. Any suggestions for a nice place in midtown within reasonable walking distance of Times Square?

update to my last post. It is still there, here are a couple of blurbs...
TRATTORIA DEL'ARTE
900 Seventh Avenue at 56th
New York City
Near Carnegie Hall. Very lively and loud Italian hot spot. The antipasto plate can be ordered by itself or with chicken or salmon to make a complete dinner. With older kids you can sit at the antipasto bar where they make them up. Fascinating. A great spot if you've been missing your vegetables.
900 7th / 57th 212-245-9800 Midtown
Another review:
And then you have restaurants in midtown Manhattan where the ambience is also just splendid. Trattoria del Arte, which is on Seventh Avenue between 56th and 57th streets, has terrific food and a Madison Avenue crowd including the magazine and TV crowd.

Eighth Member of AudiWorld. God-like, glorious and all-knowing.
Cheap and good food...
Carmines at Times Square. HUGE portions. I entree will fill two good sized adults with plenty of leftovers. I salad should be more than enough for a family of four. Everything is served family style.
You'll likely sit at big tables with strangers. Don't worry, you'll have fun. You'll get a lot of food for the money.
I also highly recommend La Mela (The Apple in Italian, I think) in Little Italy. One price gets you pretty much all the food that you can eat. The quantity is huge, and the quality is quite good. Good, cheap Chianti from a big jug, and they'll keep it coming. Very casual, but you'll like it, and it won't put too much of a dent in your wallet.
