Default Truthful/factual and car mag in the same sentence is an oxymoron . . .

they all accept ads from car companies and will rarely if ever speak the absolute truth.

A perfect case in point is the Motor Trend Car of the Year. The ONLY cars that are eligible for this award are cars whose companies are willing to promote the "win" and buy ad space in the magazine.

How many "first drives" do you think a car company will give out to a magazine that says company x builds ****ty cars? Never happen. The magazines need ad revenue to stay in business, they don't stay in business from magazine sales. It is like this with any magazine, except Consumer Reports, but they are a whole other mess of problems! lol

Default I like Automobile, too, but for completely different reasons...;-)

I think it has the best writing and is the best "product" amongst those commonly listed. Just my $.02

Default Car Magazine from the UK once featured a VW-emblemed lemon on cover

The writers of Car were upset with the quality issues affecting their long-term VW GTI and showed their displeasure with this classic, and often discussed, magazine cover. The cover appeared during the nadir of Volkswagen; shortly before Piech became Chairman and CEO.

AutoWeek is probably the most honest, but the others are very good too.
