Hey man, I dont know what year is your TT but I have a 2001 1.8 Quattro coupe and today I replaced my running lights.
It is quite simple, just open your hood and look behind the headlight unit for a plug/connector that has NO wiring on the back, its pretty much above the big harness... Twist it 1/4 turn and thats it. It uses a H6W bulb.
