Default Phat Box

How does the Phat box link up with the standard original equipment stereo on the TT? Specifically, I am interesting in the control features, search and display.

Also, is this a good thing?

Thanks

Default It plugs into the CD Changer wiring harness to provide the protocol signals to the H/U

don't know what exact controls on the H/U are used, but i'll bet it's the same as the changer.

good thing? personal taste.
Personally, no, it's way too expensive for what you get.

Plenty of alternative MP3 players.Apple iPod comes to mind...

Default How much storage does an iPod have?

I have been considering the PhatNoise as well, but I'd consider an iPod.

Also, is the iPod compatible with Windows computers? And can a noob like myself install it?

Default it plays FLAC files, thats so cool (geek alert)

FLAC are lossless audio files... about half the size of wavs... but completely lossless just like a wav file...

anyway... it plays those, in addition to mp3 & wma... which i thought was really cool... and one of the main reasons i want it... seeing as how almost a half of my music collection is in FLAC...

Jeff

I am an Apple user as well - for work, home and play. I have considered the iPod for the car. Have the original 10GB device. I am concerned about looking down to the display of the iPod. That is why I asked about the Phat Box. Does the info (song title, artist, etc) get displayed on the head unit LED display?

PS I see that you are in Rochester - Mayo?

I don't know how the PhatBox displays. I only bought the car in Rochester.

I prefer the clean setup of the Phatbox. I hate having to look at wires.
