Picked my new 225QC Sat. - faulty fuel gauge at 300 miles
Just got my new TT this Saturday, had an enjoyable WE at the Hamptons.
I noticed that when the fuel tank is 1/2-3/4 full the fuel guage flickers, sometimes up to 1/4 of a tank up or down.
I have put 300 miles on the car (mixed city/hwy) and the guage seems to be stuck at half tank. I assume I used 12-13 gallons of the ~16 in the tank, so I guess that the gauge is faulty.
Has anyone had the same problem?

Congratulations, and enjoy the new ride!
The fuel gauge problem is fairly common across all the Audi models. I believe it is due to a faulty sensor in the tank, and I'm sure you can find lots more info by searching the forums. Mine has been broken for months, and after talking to friends who have had it fixed just to have it fail again, I decided to live with it. I just reset the trip odo each fill, and refill every 250 mi. Good luck.

Visit your dealer soon
I have the same problem in my 180TTQ. You need new fuel tank sending units. The dealer would order them only after looking at the vehicle, and then it was another 3 weeks for the parts to arrive. I would visit your dealer soon so they can order the parts for you now. My new ones will be installed next week and I'll let everyone know if it works. For now, as mentioned, reset the trip odometer after every fill-up.

You may want to try this ...
add octane boost to your tank before you fill up on your next tank of gas. I too had the same problem on my 180 TTQ, the gauge would go nuts once it hit 3/4 tank mark and trip meter would bounce around as well. I used 240 miles on odometer as a gauge to fill up for gas.
But the reason I state using the octaine boost is that Audi has stated (for the A6) ...
"Sulfur combined with certain additives in fuel could become deposited on contact points of each fuel sending unit. These deposits could increase electrical resistance causing incorrect information to be sent to the fuel gauge on the instrument panel."
Since adding the octane boost and filling up with premium fuel, I no longer have any problems with my fuel gauge. It's accurate and it doesn't bounce around. You try this tactic, if anything you spend around $5-8, and add some octane to your tank. Good Luck!

Just came back from the dealer
The dealer first attached the diag computer to confirm that the instrument stack was in order. Then he checked the sender unit with the computer and said the all the tests are OK.
He asked me to drive the car on a couple of tankes before we try other solutions. He was aware of the service bulletin for the A6.
This was my first tank of gas that was either filled by Audi or by the dealer. I wonder what type of gas they use. After I visited the dealer I topped off the tank (11.5 gallons) of premium gas. I think that I shall add an octane booster as suggested.
I'll keep you posted
