Default Picked up my black/gray 225 TTRQ on Sat....first impressions

What an awesome car!! Everything I imagined and more. I'm very glad I waited for the black - the black/gray interior contrast is definitely my favorite color combo. Since this is my first ever sports car, I may not be savvy enough to make an educated observation around performance - but let's just say this car has all the power and handling I'm gonna need for a while! A few points below:

1 Miramar VW/Audi was awesome! A great car buying experience, even though I had to wait longer than expected for my car and I paid a little over MSRP, a first rate dealership!

2 As I mentioned, I don't know that much about the performance of these cars, but I do seem to sense some "turbo lag" when I punch it in certain gears. Seems to be consistent with what others have said.

3 I haven't driven a stick consistently in 5 years, but sometimes it doesn't seem to move smoothly between gears....or maybe I just need to improve my driving skills!

4 Remote doesn't seem to work all the time. I've had to push repeatedly on a couple of ocassions to get passenger door and trunk open. A slight annoyance.

The second day I was sitting at a light and a boxster pulled up next to me and asked me how I like the car and said he liked it...that was cool. Even though everyone here already said to expect it, I never imagined all the attention it gets. I think I might be sued for causing whiplash I've seen so many heads abruptly turn!! : ) I'll post pics as soon as they're developed. I think I'm gonna go for a drive - it's even more fun at night with all the lights on!!!

Default You (all you new owners) will find yourself turning the lights on while behind a van or ...

SUV that has a nice wide dark colored back. Just for the kick of it. I did this today in broad daylight. Xenons: zzzzZZZZT; Fogs: zot; brights: Z-Zot! I got a smile out of it. Like Freeman Thomas said in the article Brad W posted last week, a car should make you smile.

Yes, silliness is my specialty.

May your DV be silent.
Ivan

Default Brilliant black....I washed it after two days and realized something.....

already. After washing, drive your car around the block before chamoising. That way you blow out all the water that's stuck in the grooves of the car. I didn't do that and the next day after I drove it, I came out to my car hours later to find water spots all over the car!!!! aaahhhhgggg

Default Here's a little trick...get electric leaf blower and after washing....

blow off car/engine bay/open doors and do sills & hinge area/seams/ wheels etc. When done then wipe off with chamois etc. It works great!

Default Not a bad idea, a California Water Blade works well too....

But I'll have to try the leaf blower trick, just bought one about a month ago and never even thought of doing this. But I like the idea of getting off the extra water from engine bay, door sills, rear hatch area, etc. - water always pools in those areas even though I did Zaino those areas as best as I could.

Default #4 - for rear hatch, hold down the button for 2-3 seconds, works for me

Plus I have found that you have to be rather close to the car in general for the remote to work, I think they have a very limited range.

Best of luck with the new TT. I've had mine for exactly 4 weeks now, it exceeded my expectations as well... still does!

Default Improve remote unlock range

If you think your keyless entry/ hatch release remote range is not what it should be, simply hold the remote touching your chin and then press the button. This supposedly makes your whole body act as an antenna or something. I don't know why it works, I just know that it does.
94 Accord EX :<
