Careful you must be, the power of the Mod Side is strong
Does your TT have an extended warranty? Because if it's an '01 and does not, then it's either gone or about to expire!
If you want more kick from your TT, go with a chip. I think 90% of people here would agree that it is the most bang for the buck. I absolutely love my Revo - it is a significant change in power by buttmeter and grinometry.
I have 'light mods'...did Revo, then the DV (which even for me only took an hour or so to install)...then of course I bought the TTDA and **** from Dr Schwing (which are still in the box - maybe today?).
Anyhow, go into it with the right frame of mind and realizing that you probably will not stop at the chip.

If I were you I would not
unless you have wealthy parents who are going to pay for everything (school, expenses, car). But if that were the case, you wouldn't be concerned about the warranty, right?
When I was in school I was foolish enough to waste a lot of money that I didn't have on my gti instead of waiting until I was older and making more money. I eventually paid off those mods years after the car was sold. Looking back it was not worth it. I literally could have made a down payment on a house if I had saved it.
So I would say, spend your money on things that will last first, like your education. You already have a good car.

I've modded every car I had...however, if you are reluctant about the TT, start with
cosmetic enhancements first (i.e., wheels, tint). Be careful about a "big" mods like chipping, or major electrical work due to the dealers' propensity to deny warranty work. If you want some performance, get an exhaust...hard for dealers to deny warranty work due to wheels and exhaust.

Exactly!
I am lucky enough to have parents paid for everything..but still, I could use those money for house or other more important things instead as what you mentioned...that last longer and not depreciate much like mods.
