Default Please Help!!

After jus fitting an aftermarket Head Unit into my TT Coupe, the FM stereo just doesnt work!! Ive asked this question earlier and someone suggested Jeffs Site (cheers TTSchwing), but the site dont tell me anything bout the aerial or signal booster if installed. Has anyone else had a problem with the FM Stereo after fitting a different head unit?? I do not have the BOSE system...... There must be some wire that I have left out!!! Can anyone please help... I need my Radio!!

Thanks

The antenna is factory amplified. Make sure to connect the power antenna lead to the radio...

Default Not true. The connector from the lead going to the H/U is non-aftermarket std....

you need to;

1. match the conenctors with an adapter.
(impossible to find)

2. Cut the connector off the OEM wiring harness.
Splice it to an aftermarket type Motorola plug.

OR

3. If the after-market H/U haa connector on a short length of cable, you can actually cut *both* ends off, strip the insulation on both down to the shielded center conductor.
Splice them together. (solder pref.)
Tape with electrical tape.
Splice the shields together.(just a few plaaces will do.)
tape it up.

It will work.

Default Guess its different than the A4 with the antenna in the rear window then...

No wonder the reception has always been so poor Makes sense.

Default Not true either. The *antenna* is in the coupes rear window...

It's the connection that he has a problem with, I believe.

Default I know, Im saying that the A4 has an amplified antenna...

Which is different than the TT, which does not

Past Audi's and VWs have used a special adapter that has a power lead inside the antenna adapter. Metra carries this product as well as probably a few others (such as Scosche)

No worries... Is anyone positive that something like this isn't required on the TT?
