Default Please verify I may be having a MAF problem.

I can accelerate in 1st gear with no problem. However, in 2nd gear the car begins to misfire at about 4500-5000 rpms and won't rev higher due to the misfiring. This is the exact characteristic we all used to run into with older cars if you had a bad plug or bad spark plug wire.

I cleaned my MAF yesterday and have yet to take it out for a test drive. I was also thinking about replacing the spark plugs. I have had the car for 3 years with the original plugs and at $1.50 each it's not going to break the bank.

Thanks,

Jeffrey Crumpacker

Default It could be something else (N75).... you really need to get some VagCom logs, or at least...

see if any DTC's are thrown....

Default Aftermarket DV

I had one stick on me and it would not rev over 4500.

Just a thought.

Default Again my thought was a hunch

can you still hear the turbo spooling like normal, if you can this is probably not the problem. According to the DV you can take it apart and service it yourself.

Default Supposedly I pick it up this afternoon... lovely that I have to sit in the weekend getaway traffic..

for probably 2 hours to get there.... I plan on going some VagCom testing as soon as I get home.... Sat AM put in the chip, do some local "testing" and then leave for my road trip.... (yikes... cutting it close....)

Default if you are having a n75 probelm, you can check using a VAG ...

run an output test, go to wastegate regulator...you'll hear the solenoid clicking. Also, you can see in blk 118? (not totally sure if that's it...just scroll up and down and you'll see "wastegate"). When in working condition, you should get at least a 85-90% reading. If you get a less than 10%, your N75 could be damaged, you could have a leak, or you could have a bad DV.
