Default Popped a tire yesterday...

Maybe 15K miles on an F1-GSD3. If I can't fix it,
how many tires should I replace at once?

sigh

(Was having a great drive to work, though...!):>

Default How much tread do you have left in it?

As long as the hole isn't in the sidewall (or too close to it) you should be able to patch it. Plugs are not the best way to go. Get a patch on the inside.

If you can't fix it I would get a pair rather than a full set.

Default Is the hole in the middle of the tread? Made by a nail?

Is the tread is ripped you're out of luck but if it is a single hole get a patch from the inside. There are patches that have a rubber part that pokes through the hole from the inside of the tire. I used one of those on my previous tires and it lasted 10k miles and lasted as long as the tires did.

Default Ran over a rock ...

following my friend's M3 a little too closely...

Actually, I just took a look and there's a LOT of
treadlife left and it looks like it's just a small
hole in the center of the tread. Should be easy to
patch.

I'll try Monday - and hopefully get my exhaust
installed, too! :>

Most tire places will tell you they can't fix it. They want to sell tires :-)

Scot, sorry about your tire!! Tires replaced in pairs (both fronts or both rears) are OK... Haldex allows up to 3% varience, front to back. Just different wear on the same tire?.. not even close to 3%!!

Default 3% good to know, thanks, Russ!

Have an appt. at 3pm to hopefully install my exhaust. Anything I should know beforehand?
