Is power top a common option? (more)
I've been trying to find a TT225R with:
Premium
Audio Package
Navigation
These are options that I want no matter what. The cars my dealer is able to turn up in the 7 state area all have power top deleted. Is that common? I'm finding that nav is a hard option to find, but it's doable? I can be flexible with the top.
Oh yeah, I don't really want to wait for a factory order.
Any opinions?
Thanks!

It is common to HAVE a power top but Audi messed up the production qty...
Recent activity on this board - confirmed in Germany as well, suggests that production in Austria was mistakenly scheduled for thousands of manual tops. Finding a power top - unallocated or not - is extremely difficult.
Many have decided to go ahead with purchase and have been successful in asking their dealer to discount the car price for this 'hardship'. Going rate for discount is ~$800.00.
Would suggest you stand firm on all but this option or, wait a while for purchases to cycle around this issue.
Good Luck

The power top is standard on the 225TTR. However, it was omitted from about 1400 cars made in September, and the MSRP reduced by $800.00. Although all of those cars were pre-sold, many people refused to accept them so they are now on dealer lots. If you want a manual top on a 225TTR, now is the time to act.

You know, I really doubt the "mistake" theory...
Here's my personal take:
Audi ran out of power top mechanisms and there was some type of production problem with their parts supplier. Rather than just not make any 225 TTRs they decided to go ahead and make them with manual tops knowing they would all sell anyway, albeit at the inconvenience of those who custom ordered a 225 TTR that would instead show up with a manual top.
Mistakes happen, but I don't buy that someone in QC somewhere wouldn't have caught the fact that 225 TTRs were rolling off the line with manual tops until thousands were produced...

So, is not having a power top a hassle? I'd prefer power, but if it takes a ...
couple sec to put the top down by hand, no big deal.
Thanks!
