Hey you lucky people in the UK. I am trying to estimate the price differential between a 180 Quattro and 225 Quattro similarly equipped. I have my name for both a fully loaded 180Q and a 225Q. I was trying to work out whether the additional power would be worth the additional $$<p>Thanks in advance

Hello, here´s germany again ;-)<p>Over here, the difference between both cars is exactly 5.100 Deutschmarks (60.700/65.800). This is equivalent to around 2.600 US-Dollars.

Thanks for the feedback.<p>Here in the US it is rumoured that the 225 will include the 17" wheels, xenon lights and standard Quattro. Currently these are all options on the 180. If I am correct then it will be about US$2600 for an additional intercooler, a bigger K004 turbo and a 6 speed tranny == 45BHP more! Will this be worth it seeing that there seems to be chips available taking the 180 to 220 BHP for about $500. As if it ain't bad enough having to wait for a TT. Decisions, decisions...<p>Great site this.

Hi, <br>the 225 is quattro only. My comparison was between the 180Q and the 225 (Q). The 225 indeed has the 17" wheels as a standard. <p>You can´t compare the 225hp-engine with a simple 500$ chip. Audi made a lot of effort to make the 225 reliable and durable. Also, the 6 speed tranny is a lot more than just an additional gear. It influences the complete character of the car. Well, at least some sort of. :-)<p>Mmh, on thursday I will swap my 180 FWD for a 225. We´ll see...<p><br>Bye,<br>Michael<p><br>

I guess you cannot compare a chip to a well thought out 225Hp TT. Let us know after your swop.
