Default Problem with analog gas gauge.

Sometimes the analog gas gauge on my '01 225 TT gives the wrong reading. My question is, does the digital gauge give the correct amount of fuel remaining or is that tied into the analog gauge and also incorrect?

Default Time for new fuel senders or new cluster . . .

as far as I know the digital gauge is independent from the analog needle but I may be wrong. You should get the car fixed - sending units and clusters have been replaced many many times on this forum.

Default

Mine had similar problem; miles-til-empty was accurate; new cluster fixed things.

Default If you're still under warranty, get to the dealer...

b/c a cluster is expensive and the symptoms you described do sound like a bad instrument cluster.

Default If your miles to empty reads correct and the analog dial is wrong then it's...

probably the cluster. If both readings vary in the same error direction at the same time (too low or too high) then you need fuel sending unit(s). There are two in the 225 and one in the 180.

It's only a matter of time before someone gets so pissed about the FSU's that a class action lawsuit will be filed. They have an average life expectancy of 25K miles. On a 225 it's $600 to replace them at the dealer.

Default Search is your friend. This has been discussed many, many times>>>

There is a very cheap and relatively easy fix for those who are mechanically inclined....The rest of you get to bend over for the dealer...again...but you're used to that by now ;-)
