Problem chipping '02 TT
I remember a while back someone mentioning a tamper-proof bracket covering the ECU of 2002 TT's. Has anyone figured out a way to remove the bracket to get to the ECU while still making it appear as if it hasn't been tampered with? I went to New Dimensions today to get an APR chip and they couldn't figure out how to get that damn thing off without making it obvious it had been removed.

Really? I didn't know that..... GRR.... I hope someone figures it out....I wanna chip in Aug...
Well, I'm getting it done at the dealer (Aftermarket Event)...I'm sure they can tell us how... ;-)

If it is just tamperproof screws then check with your local fastener distributors. They
should be able to sell you the removal tips/tools and replacement screws. If you can't find any locally then email me. I keep a few different kinds in stock.

you may or may not have this problem...
From what I recall from some posts a while back, it seems Audi only added the chastity belt to the chip in the middle of the 2002MY. Depending on when your roadster was manuf-ed, it may or may not have it. I recall someone (Denny?) mentioning that the ALMS's all have it.
I wonder how this would affect the ability to swap out the 3rd-party chip with the OEM chip, for when you bring it in.
