Problems with alignment and dealership

I asked the dealership to install my new Potenza S03's and they refused to do so because I purchased them from Tirerack.com

I understand that they will not be able to warranty the job but at least they should still give me the option to have it done with the knowledge of that exception.

I ask them how much it would cost for an alignment...they tell me $149. Is there something special about the TT which warrants this price?
Does this sound right to you all?

I went to a local shop that I trust to have it done ($69.99) and they could not adjust the caster/camber to save their lives. They said they need special tools to do it properly.

Any one else experience this?

Dealer charged me $138.00>>

Being a 4 wheel drive car, it requires a 4 wheel alignment, hence the higher than normal charge.

I had other 4WD cars in the past and it never cost that much to have them aligned...

That's why I thought that there may be something inherently different about the TT and the way that they are alignment to warrant such a price.

Just wondering why.

shouldnt cost that much, but a quality 4 wheel alignment can cost more

than a 2wd car. Make sure they have the "hunter" machine.

I wouldnt pay more than $100

Is your car lowered at all? I've been wrestling with my alignment >>Long

For weeks. I have coilovers and Forge control arms, the first shop left me with a -2.4 camber and overall toe of over 1/2". Looked bad to the eye and #'s proved it. I found another shop close to my house and asked if he could look at it, he went through the alignment and got it to -1, however the toe is still 7/16" I watched him do the work and even assisted at points, he pulled all the toe adjustment that he could, so I'm going to watch the tire wear for awhile and see how it goes however if I want to get it perfect the lower suspension is going to have to be dropped and the adjustment slots will have to be elongated some more to get it ideal.
