Purchasing a TT!
I've been drooling over TT's ever since they came out, and am getting serious now Any ideas on purchasing a 2001 225/6-speed coupe with 47K miles? I've been driving Miatas for ten years and 47K is nothing, but I don't know the maintenance history on TT's. Any help would be appreciated.

Just Do it
Bought mine a week ago and am ECSTATIC. Early models had some electrical glitches - but thats the beauty of buying a used model -those have all been worked out by the time you get it!

Upgrade to the newer tranny oil
You can probably find an '01 with lots less miles.
Haven't had anything flaky happen to me in 32k miles but others have had some problems with the dash electronics.

I just bought a 2000 w/ 25k miles last week...
maybe all the bad stuff has been worked out by 47k. Guess the person who owned mine didn't mind/notice the CEL or bad wheel bearings...or maybe that's why he/she didn't buy it after the lease was up...dohh!
Drive it with the windows down AND up to listen for odd sounds (failing DV, suspension noise, wheel bearings, internal rattles). I would also suggest driving it for more that two hours, at various speeds/conditions before deciding. That should be enough time to uncover any inherent problems.
just my $.02

You know - I wouldn't be suprised if firms starting requiring $$$ for phrases
Quiken sued another company in the software business last year for using the adjective "quick" on their software cover. Apparently you can't use any word in the English language that MIGHT be near their name.
