Question for 225hp owners please......

Re: Question for 225hp owners please......
With a 225 you have more power potential (easier to mod). With an APR chip alone you get about 263hp on 93 octane and 276 on 100 octane program. On pump gas a chipped 225 and a 3.2 would be a very close race. You can also slap a big turbo on the 225, your wallet is the limit for power. Also, the 6-speed is great, durable and easy to drive. I love my chipped 225 and I have big plans for it in the future.
The 3.2 TT uses the same motor as the VW R32. Let me tell you, it sounds wicked! I don't know what they did to make it sound so good but I've never heard a V6 that compares - it sounds eerily similar to the S4 biturbo. In the sound department, the 3.2 kills the 1.8T hands down. The DSG is a cool option but you still don't have "total" control of your clutch engagement (example when you're revving it in neutral) and I HEARD that it is not designed for much more power. There aren't too many inexpensive options for engine upgrades anyway.
Bottom line: If you're looking for power potential and upgradeability, buy a 225. If you're looking for sound and "cool" factor, get a 3.2.

Your the hundredth person to say that the VR6 sounds better
than the 1.8T. I'll be the first to say that I disagree. The VR6 is louder, not better. Furthermore, the 1.8T *sounds* like the TT *looks*. Ya pay your money, ya take your picks!
PS
and ya fix your broken valve springs.

If you need to have a stick shift go 225 else >>>>
consider the 3.2. That is a very flexible motor with tons of low end torque, smooth power delivery that is very linear and an awesome sound.
If mods are your primary concern, the 225 has more out there. But once you have the basic mods- chip/intake/exhaust/DV/BM that put you at a slight advantage over a stock 3.2, you are looking at big $$ for more power. At that point, you could even put FI on a 3.2.
That said, my experience with a 3.2 is on an R32 that also has a stick shift. Plus I am a s*cker for a VR despite the fact that the 225 motor has really grown on me ... it is def not your run of the mill 1.8T.
Drive both back to back if possible and see what you like better.
