Question about 180 TT oil return line..
My friend went to this shop and the shop told him that he needed to have a steel braided oil return line installed to allow for better flow while running a chip. He told me this after they already did it. And he said they charged him $70. Now, the S4's oil return lines are steel braided from factory. Is this ths same with the 180hp TT? Or did my friend just get worked by a fishy mechanic? thanks for your help. I'm just trying to help out a friend of mine.

"Get your facts straight"
Gentleman:
Let us get our facts straight. The braided line in question is not a return line, but a feed- line to the turbo. The individual posting this message knows nothing about cars. Believe me ---- I know this individual personally. Now, knowing this, the factory does install a -3 feedline. Jeff Dugliss of Rennen Imports increased the feed line from a -3 to -5. Very important. VW & Audi both have had turbo failure issues due to insufficient line capacity. Hence increasing the line size to increase oil feed to the turbo. Furthermore, Mr. Dugliss did the following for this gentleman: feedline, new blowoff valve, increased the fuel pressure, and installed an Evo Intake. All completed for what I know to be a nominal amount. I guess this gentleman forgot to mention this.?!
It is unfortunate that a misinformed individual, such as the individual placing the disparaging message on this forum, can simply start typing without starting his brain and push send. Hey --- I guess that is free speech for ya!
By the way, Mr. Dugliss of Rennen Imports of Tampa Bay Florida, takes care of the following for me: two racecars, 2500 Turbo Diesel Suburban, Audi A4 and wifes Mercedes. Just resently, Mr. Dugliss put a PES t28 turbo kit on my A4. Definitely kicks a_ _! Yes, he did increase the feedline.
