Default Question about insurance cost in Northeastern New Jersey.

Hi.

This is my first posting...

So I'm planning on getting a TT and was just wondering what I could expect insurance costs to be like.

I recently moved from the Chicago suburbs (Park Ridge) to Jersey City (ick ick). Any ideas?

I know I've seen several TTs in Hoboken, but never in Jersey City.

Also, I am male, 23, single, a home owner (condo), and would not use it to commute to work, if that makes any difference. My first and current car is a Honda Civic and was paying $800 / year for full coverage in Illinois. We were with State Farm, but since they are leaving, we probably have to find a different provider.

Please let me know if you have any ideas of the general range.

Thanks.

Default You should call around to get quotes specific to your circumstances and history. It's really hard to

compare with other people and other levels of coverage. (I think you'll be shocked with NJ rates, though. See if you can get a rate for a leisure vehicle with low annual mileage. Good luck)

Default Ellen is correct - call around to agents. I pay $2,900/yr in S. Jersey.

I'm afraid that even with less miles per year you will likely be a bit "unhappy" with the rates. The TT is worth it, however, so don't get too focused on the insurance cost.

Default I hate to say it, but Hudson County also has the highest rates in NJ.

But don't skimp on the liability insurance. If you have future earning power, the last thing you want is (and don't any of the holy take this the wrong way) have a local crack head 'stumble' in front of your car.

Default I've been too scared to call an agent for a quote...

people have mentioned that Jersey was expensive, but that's insanity, since I'm sure it would be more expensive around here. Maybe I'm just cheap.

Sad face.
