Default Question for those with 18" RS4's......>>

Did you notice a difference going with a heavier rim....assuming you had the OEM 5 spokes before. Does the extra weight really have a noticable impact in terms of power loss.

TIA

I'm about to pull the trigger on a set....I just hope I dont regret it

Default I had 7 spoke 18's>>>>

and went with the RS4 19's..A little heavier steering input..But I don't think it is a weight issue...Had them both side by side and used my manual scale..(Me picking them up)and could not tell any difference..In fact, the 19's FELT a little lighter..Too close to tell. I think you would enjoy the 18's

Default if you love the look of them, which i did, I would go for it...

no if your a weight junkie, then dont get them, you will notice the difference over the 5 spoke forged.

Default that sluggish feeling is gone after a few days of driving...

dont let it take you away from the great looks it will add to your car. Make up the extra weight with some light tires...Pzero neros, T1s, etc

Default Got 'em

I was expecting the car to feel different but was surprised now little the difference was. I actually prefer the handling of the wider tire (235 vs 225) and the new tires are lighter than the old ones. Tire weight is often overlooked so check that out also and factor it into the equation. My new wheels are 5lbs heavier than the 5 spokers but the combined wheel/tire weight was only 1lb more. Newer tires are ContiSportContact2 and old tires were Kumho Ecsta 712's.

I would do it again in a second. No regrets.

Default I forgot to mention...

They look GREAT! Let's face it, our cars are great looking but not the fastest out there. It is the same for these wheels - they look great but not the choice for you if you only care about speed. If this was going to be a track only car for me I would get some 15lbs wheels and slick tires. Enjoy the wheels you have or the ones you're going to buy for the right reasons, IMHO of course :-)
